It seems September is the new June… I have 3 weddings this month which means 3 quilts! Eek!
Luckily I had enough advanced notice that I will complete them all with a little time to spare. In fact, 2 of them are complete and I have one more to go.
When I was deciding on the third project I shared with Jessica, the owner at The Cotton Cupboard, that this one is for a cousin and therefore I wanted something a bit more challenging. My cousin and her fiance are a young couple getting married in an old train depot in the small town our family is from. She has grown up in the outdoors and small towns and their engagement photos are very rustic. Taking those clues I selected some fun fabrics that remind me of something a cowgirl may wear paired with a solid from the French General line to add a modern twist to the finished quilt.
The pattern is called Pink Lemonade from Laundry Basket Quilts. I have started the 400, yes… that reads 400!!!, half square triangles.
I am sure it will all be worth all the little itty bitty pieces in the end though!
