There has been so much anticipation for the 2015 QuiltCon hosted by the Modern Quilt Guild and I can’t tell you how excited I am that it is finally here! Months ago I waited by my computer for the email to register to volunteer and my first shift is today. In fact, I will be at QuiltCon 5 of the next 6 days 🙂
If you are in the Austin Area I highly recommend a visit when the show opens Thursday. You can get all the details on their website.
On Friday I’ll be attending a workshop by Alison Glass to learn several modern applique techniques. I just love how applique quilts look but haven’t mastered the techniques involved except raw edge applique, which I use a lot. Not sure what raw edge applique looks like? Check out my I Love Texas baby quilt for an example. The Texas shape gets stitched down but the edges fray and get softer with washing.
If you are at QuiltCon I’d love to meet you! I’ll be at Registration Tuesday and Wednesday evening, volunteering in a workshop Thursday and then in the Texas Modern Quilt Guild Booth Sunday morning.
Can’t wait for all the new things to learn, products to discover and quilters to meet! Hope to see you there!
