Wistful Lap Quilt: Feathers and Geometric Quilting on Modern Fabrics

The Cotton Cupboard, my personal favorite quilt shop located in Lakeway, TX, offers a great program they call the Top of the Month. Each month they pick and pattern and you get to pick the fabric to complete the quilt top. The first month is $50 and each month that you bring in the completed quilt top on a specified day the next top is $5 cheaper until the 11th top is free. I think it is a great deal and so much fun to play with new fabrics and patterns on a monthly basis. I started participating over a year ago and it has been a great way to have plenty of quilt tops to play with new long arm techniques. The March pattern was called Wistful and I selected a fun Tula Pink Fox Field jelly roll along with an organic offwhite cotton background. The quilting is done using So Fine from Superior in Snow.

I have done feathers on a few quilts now but this time I feel like I have finally got it and can offer this as a service. I am so pleased with how this turned out. I can’t wait to finish hand stitching the binding so I can cuddle under it!
